A group of representatives from Tyler Sister Cities traveled to Jelenia Góra, Poland to strengthen the relationship, now in a second decade of cooperation.
The Tyler delegation included UT Tyler President Dr. Rodney Mabry, Vice President Dr. Richard Osburn, and Tyler Sister Cities President Betty Bower.
The main purpose of the visit on September 23-27, 2006 was for UT Tyler representatives to meet and conduct talks with Wrocław University of Technology, Karkonosze College, and the University of Economics.
“These conversations mainly concerned the possibility of establishing cooperation between universities at the level of conducting joint projects, research or exchanges of students in similar specialties,” a news release stated.
“The city authorities created the conditions for talks, but discussions with universities were already held in bilateral relations. During the talks, it was agreed that further details and the framework of future cooperation will be discussed and contacted individually.”
