Tyler’s first sister city partnership was a city in France. Tyler and Metz’s twining of cities resulted in opportunities for sponsoring host families, travel/study programs, student/faculty exchange programs in higher education and to the public as a whole.
The UT Tyler Library’s Department of Archives and Special Collections researched this relationship.
