Hideo Fukushima, the Japanese Consul in Houston, visited Tyler on October 29, 2019. He met with Mayor Heines, City Manager Ed Broussard, and Tyler Sister Cities members Tony Tadasa, Russ Jackson, and Teresa Kennedy.
The group discussed potential business opportunities between Tyler and Yachiyo.
Mayor Heins and Consul Fukushima exchanged gifts of friendship during the visit.
