Expand your global horizons: Join Tyler Sister Cities

The Tyler Sister Cities is looking to attract new members at its upcoming annual membership meeting on Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. in the Ornelas Center for Band, Apache Belles and Dance at Tyler Junior College, located at 1400 E. 5th St. Attendees can learn about Tyler’s sister cities: Yachiyo, Japan; Jelenia Góra, Poland; San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; Liberia, Costa Rica; and Lo Barnechea, Chile.

Tyler Sister Cities began in 1982-83 to offer a global vision for the East Texas/Tyler community. It has an open membership policy with a modest dues structure for support from individuals, families, students, and corporate members. A board of 20 members represents the Tyler community with ties to business, education, health care, and culture. The Board meets monthly to plan with community input, exchange visits with Sister City delegations, and increase the visibility of Sister City issues.

Attendees will also learn more about humanitarian opportunities, support local efforts to host sister city delegates here in Tyler, and, upon membership, become eligible to travel to Tyler Sister Cities!

Membership payment tiers are as follows:

  • Student: $10
  • Individual: $25
  • Family: $50
  • Patron: $100
  • Corporate: $250 – $1,000
