Tyler Sister Cities board members participate in SSI roundtables

Members of the Tyler Sister Cities organization are collaborating with their counterparts from around the country to strengthen ties with Tyler’s sister cities overseas.

This Spring, organization leadership participated in virtual roundtables hosted by Sister Cities International. Cynthia Martinez joined the Mexico roundtable, Lane Luckie and Nancy Slough participated in the Poland roundtable, while Dr. Susan Moreland and Sarah Sanchez represented Tyler on the Japan roundtable.

Each of the discussions involved Sister City leaders, community members, and partners to share best practices, highlight active partnerships, and explore new opportunities for cultural exchange and municipal collaboration.

Staff from Sister Cities International facilitated discussion focused on strengthening people-to-people ties, supporting sustainable partnership activity, and elevating impactful programs between U.S. and international communities.

Tyler has established sister city relationships with Yachiyo City, Japan; Jelenia Góra, Poland; Lo Barnechea, Chile; San Miguel de Allende, Mexico; and Liberia, Costa Rica.
