At its annual Membership Meeting, the Tyler Sister Cities organization celebrated successes over the past year and set out its vision and goals for the next year.
On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Tyler Sister Cities members enjoyed hors d’oeuvres while mingling, before a presentation outlined major accomplishments over the last year, including two memorable delegation visits by sister cities in Poland and Japan.
Among the immediate priorities of outlined at the meeting: a delegation visit to Jelenia GĂłra, Poland this Fall, strengthening ties with sister city San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, coordinating future visit schedules with all partner cities, and developing committee involvement.
Several board members with expiring terms were re-elected to new three-year terms, as well as the approval of a new board member.
Directors with expiring terms who are returning to the board include Michael Howell, Russ Jackson, and Nancy Rangel. Julissa Torres was welcomed as a new addition to the board.
Howell and Jackson were also re-elected to additional terms as President and Vice President, respectively, while Nancy Slough was elected Secretary and Torres as Treasurer.
